When I was five years old my father invited 24 kids from the local orphanage to my birthday party. We lived in South Africa at the time and life was not easy for some in those days. Looking back, it was the best birthday gift he ever could have given me.
Although he's passed now, my father has inspired my life. He taught me that if you have, then you must give. And if you haven't deep pockets then generosity of time or spirit are just as valuable.
And so I diligently pursue these values in my role with Executive Strategies. I'm a licensed advisor who likes going beyond the sale; meaning I like giving my time by taking care of the paperwork and seeing the client through to policy delivery. Most licensed advisors prefer to have minimal involvement in the administration; so I think my clients really value the time I spend with them and as a result, I get to develop more of a relationship with them.
I think it's through our relationships with others that we learn more about people and become better people ourselves.
