As a kid I'd decided that when I grew up I wanted to be Superman. He seemed to have a great job: flying around, saving damsels in distress and never really aging.

As I got older however, I realized that Superman seemed to work a lot of nights and weekends, so instead I decided I'd become an insurance and investment advisor (little did I realize that this too would entail a lot of nights and weekends).

I didn't come directly into insurance and investment advising, however. My very first job was working at a fish n' chips joint. While a great way to spend a summer, not wanting to smell like fish everyday, I soon headed off to university. I did my undergraduate degree in Finance, then I did my Bachelor of Law in Taxation, then I trained as a Chartered Financial Analyst and then subsequently as a Certified Financial Planner. Whew! I could have used the strength of Superman back in those days.

Now with Executive Strategies*, I work closely with Darrell advising our clients on their individual insurance and estate planning.  Working closely with our clients' lawyers, accountants, and financial planners, we help clients to make that paradigm shift; seeing insurance as an opportunity rather than an encumbrance.
